Summer Riding Camps
at Chriscon Farms

Igniting a passion that lasts a lifetime...

Picture
Give your child the gift of horses this summer at Chriscon Farms. Running weekly from 9:00am to 4:00pm, our unique equestrian summer camp offers children aged 6 to 18 the experience of lifetime at our beautiful horse farm.

Riders will receive individualized instruction based off of the level at which they commence camp, with novices learning basic control of the horse and simple equitation and more advanced riders being coached in dressage and jumping.

Our philosophy is that quality horsemanship is born when riders can take part in all aspects of their horse's care and wellbeing. Horsemanship does not stop when you leave the riding ring. Our camp is specifically designed around this aspect and provides students with the opportunity to learn, grow and achieve in a safe environment.  Learn more about our camps by viewing a typical day's schedule below.

Along with the daily activities on our farm, camp will also include:
• Individualized learning sessions on horse management including, first aid, grooming and more!
• Ground work with horses.
• Horseback riding.... of course!
• Each  child will be assigned a different horse each day to care for.  Tasks may include: feeding, watering,  brushing, bathing, cleaning their stall, living area and giving them LOVE!
• A visit from a professional artist  on Wednesdays, who will teach art techniques in order to capture the student's horse on canvas.
• Horse games, both on horseback and on the ground.
• Horse movie morning for one hot day during the week.
• Various horse professionals will visit throughout the week and will provide students with an inside look into their field of work with horses and will be able to answer questions that students may have.
• We will also offer non-horse activities ranging from soccer, basketball, water balloon fights and obstacle courses.

Please be advised all activities may be modified by the camp leaders based on the children attending the camp program, their ages, listening skills and behaviour.
In addition to their boots and helmet, riders should dress for comfort. If your child does not have their own riding boots or helmet, a form fitting boot with a heal is acceptable. We can provide helmets to riders (inquire), but it is preferable that you send your children with a certified helmet for horseback riding. Fitted clothing (not loose or baggy) is recommended, and long pants are a must for riding! Having extra clothes to change into in case clothing gets wet or uncomfortable is always a good idea. Please label all items with your child’s name.

Food:
Campers are asked to bring their own packed peanut-free lunch, with lots of healthy snacks for the day. Please note they will have access to a fridge, microwave, toaster oven and sink. A snack will be provided at times throughout the week, but children should not be dependent on them as their sole nutrition. A healthy lunch will be provided on Friday by us, please let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions at the time of signup (above).

Here are a few other items that riders may want to bring to camp:
• Sunscreen
